Vintage metal bed is perennially in style, and can often be found in thrift stores and garage sales for almost nothing. You may even have an old metal bed frame that languishes in the garage. Save and transform metal beds with a little sanding and a new coat of paint. You can also paint the new metal bed to quickly change the decoration of your existing bedroom.
Dismantle the metal bed, and take it outside. Always work outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Place the pieces of metal bedding on old sheets or collection cloths to protect the surface under old paint and metal dust and to protect the surfaces of the spray paint. Remove or sand the old paint. If your metal bed has old paint chips, use a wire brush and paint scraper to remove it. As an alternative, use a stripper made of metal.
